When Barbara and I walked into the bridal suite the afternoon of Maison + Alex’s wedding it was a sight to see. I think it will become one of those indelible moments for me, one of those memories you carry around for years to come. It was Maison and she was radiantly happy. Yes, you are correct, she is a bride on her wedding day and all brides on their wedding day are supposed to be happy. This however was a happiness, a joy I have never seen before. It’s what I imagine a girl looks like when she’s proposed to (and says yes!)
I’ve only been party to one proposal in my life, when I asked Elyse to marry me. I was a little freaked out at that particular moment and don’t remember her exact expression, other than she was really, really happy!
Anyway, there was no stress, no worry, no one was going to bring her down – it was great.
Then her mom walked into the room. “Maison! Oh my gosh it’s perfect! The flowers, the tables, the cake, everything!” June was dialed into Maison’s outlook on life at that moment. Very cool.
Alex was great too! This was one of those occasions were we didn’t get a chance to meet each other until a couple hours before the wedding. His friends/their friends and family were phenomenal, they were great people to hang out and work with.
I’d would be remiss if I didn’t brag about Cristin from Weddings by Kennedy. I’m convinced she deserves a lot of the credit for all the happy folks on Saturday. She was amazing and just confirms how hard event planners work and all the little things that can go wrong last minute. I didn’t see (or hear for that matter) anything that wasn’t according to plan which translates to a really low-stress event! No easy task, and like I said, Cristin was amazing, I loved working with her!
All the great vendors that helped out:
